  4. I have absolutely clean record during my 26 years of service.
  5. I am a declared Chetwodian which simply means that in my entire career and today in retirement, Nation, Men and Self came in this strict order. No one can ever come up to put even smallest blemish on my service career, character or the values I stand for. I invite people to prove me wrong.
  6. In my entire service, I never asked or took even one favour for Annual Confidential Report, Posting, Gallantry Award, Course Grading, Foreign Posting, Promotion or anything that helps in career growth.
  7. In my entire service and later in retirement, I did not take favours using my state, language, caste, lanyard, academy, connections or affiliation of any kind with anyone.

  17. Putting all of above in public domain is possible due to my being what I write. No fear. I know that ‘Social Media’ is BRUTAL and anyone who knows me and hates me will come up to counter to destroy my public image.
  18. For a veteran to be respected, he needs to write as boldly & openly I write about my life in service. India selected me to serve, I served exactly as an officer is expected to. THIS IS WHAT EVERY VETERAN NEEDS TO PUT IN PUBLIC DOMAIN TO BE COUNTED AS A “TRUSTED VETERAN”.
  19. If I have missed anything do let me know, I will add and upload.
  20. Will you write the SAME declaration to be TRUSTED as a veteran?

  1. You are the man i admire most on twitter just because of his unbiased views and selfless service towards nation till this time! You define the word veterans! You are no less than inspiration to me, Someday in the future when i will wear that olive green, first thing I’ll do, is to salute you!
I observed every single tweet of yours, and now when i read all this which you wrote above, makes me feel unlucky that i took birth so late, Getting commanded under your leadership is medal of honour in itself. Meet you soon sir, after wearing olive green! Jai Hind Saab

  2. Very motivating. Hope you won’t mind if I copy the document for preparing my service career. Joined IMA 1972. Superannuation 2006. Very similar traits which you have mentioned. Warm Regards.

  4. Jaihind sir,

Easy to read, Difficult to sign and follow your suit. Promise to strive my best…

Its a great pleasure to know you through SM. Will be an achievement to see you in person.

    Salute!

  5. Sir,

I am so glad to read your declaration.
I don’t claim to have achieved much during the 30 years of my service career starting Jun 81, except that I’ve commanded a SAM squadron, been a COO, a QFI and a proud Air Warrior.

    Unblemished service, no ‘Makhan lagana’.

Unlike you, I am not in touch with my unit warriors because I’ve served in many. Cannot connect with many, though I am in touch with a few.

For the rest, I am a KV product like you. Been in KV Manauri from class VI-VIII (1971-1974). Could we have been in the same class? Graduated from St John’s College, Agra.

I desire NOTHING. Will not accept any position that will force me to compromise on my values or Military Ethos.
I CHOSE TO SERVE IN THE AIR FORCE. I am proud of each day I spent in IAF. Given a chance, I will serve in IAF again and again and will never be tired.

Proud to be an Air Warrior.

    1. Sir, This is one of the finest moment for me to read your comments. This is YOUR DECLARATION and now there are two in this club.
Were you in KV Manauri when the Maths teacher drowned in Ganga? I joined the school in Class VI in 1971 and left after Class VII.
      Warm regards
      Sanjay
