ESTABLISHING CREDIBILITY

Establishing ‘credibility’ is at the core of presence in public domain. I must establish my credibility before I take the first step in VOICE – Veterans of India for Constructive Engagement. VOICE is about what Nation owes to Veteran JCO and Veteran Personnel Below JCO Rank and Forces Widows (without splitting the widow’s grief by excluding some). VOICE will constructively engage every government agency and the core strength is INCLUSIVITY.

I, hereby upload my UNDERTAKING AND DECLARATION on my website www.colsanjaypande.com and make the document available on open platforms. I, Col Sanjay Kamlakar Pande (Retd) give the following undertaking and declaration:

  • I was neither associated in past to, nor I am associated with any of the following:
    • Any political party in any capacity, either in active or passive manner.
    • Any ex-servicemen organisation registered anywhere in India.
    • Any Government or Non-Government Organisation associated with any type of service being provided to any citizen of India, both, in commercial and non-commercial form.
    • Any foreign company, organisation, group, or people for any type of work involving commercial or non-commercial interests.
    • Any media house, newspaper, online news portals or any company/group/organisation that promotes news or public issues.
    • Any politician or senior functionary in government, serving or retired.
    • On paid or honourary roll of any organisation in any capacity.
    • On rolls of any company (other than the one owned by me) in India in any capacity.
    • I do not own or am part of any registered or non-registered NGO dealing with any subject and in specific veterans and forces widows.
  • I further give an undertaking that:
    • I do not seek any position of authority, post, or paid work from the government, either directly or indirectly.
    • I do not seek and will not seek any recognition for the services I provide to the government in any capacity.
    • I will not disclose ever any discussion, visit, meeting or interaction I have with any Government Official related to welfare of veteran JCO and Jawan’s and Forces Widows.
    • I do not seek and will not seek any recognition for the services I provide to the veterans and forces widows in any capacity.
  • I have committed my life for the welfare of Forces Widows and Veterans (the personnel below officer ranks) and continuously work to improve the image of forces and the Ministry of Defence. I use my own funds which are from my pension and from my company. In last 15 years I have not received even one rupee from any outsider, whether individual or organisation other than employment taken after retirement for three and half years.
  • My work under SAVITA (Sustainable and Valuable Initiative for Timely Assistance), an initiative for FORCES WIDOWS, has so far, resulted in distribution of over Rs 20 lacs to Forces Widows for education of their children. The Benefactor directly transfers money to Beneficiaries.
  • I offer my unconditional service for any work that improves the life of Forces Widows and the Veterans (for personnel below officer rank). If by my work the officer cadre gets benefitted, it will be purely as a spinoff of my work for personnel below officer rank.

COL SANJAY PANDE, Retired

Personal Details – DoB – 12 Sep 1960, Jamnagar, Father – Indian Air Force, Retd in 1986 as Hony Flt Lt, Childhood and School – 21 years in Air Force Stations, Kendriya Vidyalayas across India, College – One year in Delhi University and graduated from Nagpur University in 1981.

Military CareerArmy – SS 34, OTA Chennai, passed out on 26 Aug 1982. Commissioned in Artillery, Postings – Jalandhar, Dinjan, Arunachal, Devlali, Abohar, Darbuk, Dehradun, Tibri, Kupwara,  Wellington, Talbehat, Kupwara, Allahabad, Samba, Batalik, Bikaner, Command In Batalik, active LoC for two years and three months from 2003-2005, Courses – 14 in total including JC, SC, DSSC, LGSC, Appointments/Imp Postings – Instructor IMA, BM Arty Bde, BM RR Sect & Col “A”, Terrains Seen – Rajasthan, Punjab, Kupwara, Tang Dhar, Pharkian Gali, Macchhal, NG Sector, HAA, LAC (Ladakh), LAC (China), Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Myanmar border, Central India, Retired – Premature Retirement – 2006 at peak of my career immediately on relinquishing command of my unit, Reason for PMR – With AHQ.

Post Retirement – Last 14 years in Delhi, 15 years retirement completes on 15 Sep 2021.

Wife – SAVITA (Wife) passed away on 08 Sep 2017, Children – Two, both working at away locations.

My Service Career and After:

Under my Command, the unit won 12 Gallantry Awards and shared top position in Northern Command shared with an Infantry Battalion and was awarded Unit Citation from GOC-in-C, Northern Command.

Never approached any senior in Army while in service or after retirement for any favour related to ACR, Posting, Gallantry Awards, Course Grading, Foreign Posting, Promotion or anything that helps in career growth.

Not even one act to put even smallest blemish on my 26 years-service career.

Not even one rupee corruption in entire service or post retirement life either in kind or cash TILL DATE.

Never stepped in my own unit after Command since 2005 or any Army organisation to establish old connection to date.

In touch with over 600 veterans of my unit and 100% widows with school going children since 2006 to date. I visit them each year in their villages at my own cost.
