INDIA-CHINA BORDER DISPUTE: LINKS OF ARTICLES 1-10

The India-China border dispute needs to be understood by every Indian. There can be no narrative ‘fed’ to the current generation of youth. Even the serving army officers, part of the current generation, need to form their own opinion. Here are the first ten articles that cover 547 years of history ending in 1947.

Article 11 onwards will cover post-independence period.

Article No. 1: CHINA WOES

We discuss Finger 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10 without understanding difference between IB and LAC, we discuss LAC without knowing where our claim line is, we discuss Chinese aggression on LAC and try to cover up by lies and deploying every resource to further misguide population. To control public outcry, we buy twenty murders with MVC. Where has BJP gone wrong?

Article No. 2: HIMALAYAS OR 1959 CLAIM LINE?

India’s obsession with military experts who use their ground knowledge in a very small sector and reach Army Commanders level has been amply demonstrated after Jun 2020. Himalayas are the main feature around which the military doctrine should have come up immediately after independence. This doctrine in turn would have created a blueprint for infrastructure development to support the plan and would have taken care of a much weaker China. Missing woods for trees are our hallmark.

Do we know what LAC is? Do we know where China Occupied Kashmir is? Do we know what was the state in 1947? 1900? 1840? Or 1500AD? Do we know how China ‘thought’ in these 600 years? Will he think differently now? How important Himalayas to us? To China? Are the regions bordering India pro-China? We have absolutely no knowledge of past but we still are experts on China.

Article No. 4: TIBET AT CENTRE: INDIA-CHINA SANDWICH

Dogras, Sikhs, British, Qing Dynasty and later Provisional Government of Republic of China was involved before the Communists took over. Can we afford not understanding Tibet? Tibet land mass does not merge with mainland China, it is a complete separate land mass. We have ruled over Mansarovar area through Dogras.

Article No. 5: 1840-1912 – DOGRAS-CHINA-BRITAIN – 72 YEARS OF MESS

The 1842 treaty between SIKHS and QINGS, the birth of Johnson-Ardagh Line in 1865 and 1897, the Macartney–MacDonald Line in 1899 and the Britain-Tibet Treaty of 1904 has seen Ladakh in India, Aksai Chin in China and Aksai Chin in India and even splitting Aksai Chin in two parts. The mess of 72 years continued beyond 1912.

Article No. 6: AKSAI CHIN-PART – 1

I put four questions on social media putting map of UT of J&K and Ladakh and asked the following:

• Put finger on Aksai Chin.
• Put finger on Shaksgam Valley.
• Put finger on Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
• Run index finger over Line of Control and Line of Actual Control.

The results were shocking.

Article No. 7: AKSAI CHIN – 2: CHINA OCCUPIED KASHMIR: HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY

It is held in two separated geographical land masses, Shaksgam Valley and Aksai Chin. No school in India has a map that tells the students of what China Occupied Kashmir is? Most have heard of Shaksgam Valley either very late in life or still don’t know. 20 questions that I ask in the article cannot be answered by anyone.

Article No. 8: AKSAI CHIN – 3 BRITISH INDIA AND CONFLICTING BOUNDARIES

Why is this fact not brought up in debates?  Neither China nor India inherited any boundaries so why at loggerheads? Why exactly is India-China border issue more about ego than practicality? This article effectively brings to close all issues from 1840 to 1912. Qing Dynasty was removed by Provisional Government of Republic of China (PGRC) and from 1912 to 1949 is a distinctive period for India-Britain and China. Article No. 9-AKSAI CHIN – 4: STATE OF AKSAI CHIN AS ON 01 JAN 1913

Article-10 sums up 547 years of history and brings us to 1947, year of Indian independence. Unless you know the history of previous 547 years, you will never be able to form your opinion. These 10 articles will trigger huge curiosity in you for your own research. The series continues.

The series now takes the reader from 1947 onwards. It will end and cover period up to 2021. The articles will be published on my blog.
